Jo's Thank You Card

I made this beautiful card with my Stampin' Up! Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. It's always been one of my favorite sets because the images are not only gorgeous they're also perfect for several techniques and occasions. I love how this card turned out. The colors look great together and I love the rose's 3D effect. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 1/2" x 11" piece of white card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of dark purple for the middle layer, a 5 1/8" x 5 1/8" piece of light purple for the front, a 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of white for the strip's background, a 2 5/8" x 5 1/4" piece of purple for the strip, a 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" piece of dark purple for the rose's first layer, a 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" piece of dark purple for the rose's middle layer, and a 3" x 3" piece of white for the rose.

Then randomly stamp the rose on the front layer in Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant ink. Next attach the purple paper to it's background then to the front layer. Then attach the purple ribbon. Next heat emboss three roses on glossy white card stock with Versamark ink and white embossing powder, color them with the floating re-inker watercolor technique. Click here for an awesome tutorial. I used the following re-inkers: Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant, Lovely Lilac, Orchid Opulence, and Adirondak Silver Mixative. Then cut out all three roses with a craft knife and attach one of them to the 3" x 3" piece of white card stock. Next create layers with the other two roses and attach them to the first one with mini pop dots. Here's what it looks like from the side:

Then attach the rose's white background to it's light purple middle layer then attach the middle layer to the dark purple first layer then attach the first layer the card's front layer. Next cut out the sentiment with a Spellbinders Labels Four Die, sponge it's edges with Elegant Eggplant ink, stamp the sentiment with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations set and attach it to the front layer. Then attach the front layer to the middle layer then the middle to the base and enjoy!

Feeling Sentimental Hostess Gift Card Set

I made these cute cards with my Stampin' Up! Feeling Sentimental stamp set as a thank you gift for a close friend that hosted a Stampin' Up! workshop for me when I was a demonstrator. Thank you again Angel, you're the best!!! I really like how these turned out. The subtle colors look awesome with this stamp set. Here's how I made them:

First cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of patterned paper for the front layer, a 2 3/4" x 4" piece of Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip for the front left side, a 3" x 3 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla for the image and a 1" x 3 1/2" for the sentiment.

Then cut one end of the Very Vanilla strip into a banner, sponge the edges and stamp the sentiment in Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip ink. Next attach it to the front layer. Then dry emboss the Chocolate Chip card stock with a Stampin' Up! Honeycomb embossing folder and attach it to the patterned paper and set it aside. Next stamp the image on the smaller piece of Very Vanilla card stock in Chocolate chip ink, tear the edges then sponge them with Chocolate Chip ink and attach the image to the front layer. Then just attach the front layer to the base and enjoy!

Lovely as a Tree Birthday Card

I made this pretty card with my Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree stamp set. It's definitely a must have set for every card maker. It has trees for every season and can be used for practically any occasion. I love how this turned out. The double-stamping technique looks awesome! Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of white card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Stampin' Up! Always Artichoke for the middle layer and a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of white for the front layer.

Next double-stamp (ink your stamp, stamp on a piece of scrap paper then on your project without re-inking) the lighter trees leaving space between them for the regular stamped trees with Stampin' Up! Always Artichoke ink. I love the look this creates and it's so easy to do! Then stamp the sentiment in Always Artichoke with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Happiest Birthday Wishes set, attach the front layer to the middle layer then to the base and enjoy!

Pop-Up Box Card

I made this pretty pop up box card with my Stampin' Up! Secret garden stamp set. I love this set because the flowers are gorgeous and it has the matching Framelits dies too. I love how this turned out. The flowers are really pretty and this type of card is loads of fun to make and to give away. It's been several years since I made this and unfortunately I don't have any notes so I'm not sure exactly what I used to make it. I'll give it my shot though:

Purple & Turquoise Butterfly Card

I made this gorgeous card with my Stampin' Up! Swallowtail stamp. It's one of my favorites because it's so detailed and can be used for several techniques and occasions. I love how this turned out. The colors are so vivid and look amazing together. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 6 3/4" x 9 1/2" piece of Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece of Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant for the middle layer and a 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" piece of white for the front layer.

Next dry emboss the front layer with a Stampin' Up! Honeycomb embossing folder, attach it to the middle layer and set it aside. Then heat emboss the swallowtail on white card stock with Versamark ink and black embossing powder. Next water color it with an aqua painter and Stampin' Up! Lovely Lilac and Tempting Turquoise re-inkers. I achieved the shading by adding a few drops of re-inker to two wells on a pallet for each color. I added a few drops of water to one and more water to the other. Then I colored the entire swallowtail in the lighter colors then colored just the shaded areas with the darker colors. When dry I attached the swallowtail to the front layer with mini pop dots. Next cut and emboss the Tempting Turquoise oval for the sentiment with a Spellbinders Classic Ovals die, stamp the sentiment with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Marvelous set in Stampin' Up! Basic Black ink, and punch the Elegant Eggplant background with a Fiskars scalloped oval punch. Then attach the sentiment to the background with regular adhesive, attach the background to the front layer with mini pop dots. Then just attach the middle layer to the base and enjoy!

Beautiful Pink Butterfly Card

I made this pretty card with my Stampin' Up! Swallowtail stamp. I love it because it's gorgeous and can be used in many ways and with several techniques. I love how this turned out, the pinks are so pretty together! Here's how I made it:

First cut a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of pink card stock and fold it in half for the base and a 4 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of white for the front.

Next heat emboss the swallowtail with Versamark ink and white embossing powder. Then sponge the entire image with Stampin' Up! Positively Pink ink. The embossing resists ink so wipe it off with a soft cloth or paper towel to remove the ink. I love this technique because the image appears to glow! Then stamp the sentiment with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Feeling Sentimental set in Positively Pink ink. Next cut out the butterflies with a Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslit and attach them with mini pop dots. Next attach the front layer to the base and enjoy!

I made this beautiful card with my Stampin' Up! Fifth Avenue Rose stamp set. The colors look great together and I love the rose's 3D effect. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 1/2" x 11" piece of white card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of dark pink for the middle layer, a 5 1/8" x 5 1/8" piece of light pink for the front, a 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of white for the strip's background, a 2 5/8" x 5 1/4" piece of patterned paper for the strip, a 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" piece of dark pink for the rose's first layer, a 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" piece of dark pink for the rose's middle layer, and a 3" x 3" piece of white for the rose.

Then randomly stamp the rose on the front layer in Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink ink. Next attach the patterned paper to it's background then to the front layer. Then attach the Stampin' Up! Primrose Petals poly stitched ribbon and button. Next heat emboss three roses on white card stock with Versamark ink and black embossing powder, trace all the lines with a pink wax-based color pencil then using a blending stub and gamsol or another scent-free mineral spirit blend the color through the petals getting lighter as you go. Then cut out all three roses with a craft knife and attach one of them to the 3" x 3" piece of white card stock. Next create layers with the other two roses and attach them to the first one with mini pop dots. Here's what it looks like from the side:

Then attach the rose's white background to it's light pink middle layer then attach the middle layer to the dark pink first layer then attach the first layer the card's front layer. Next cut out the sentiment with a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen Die, sponge it's edges with Pretty in Pink ink, stamp the sentiment with a misc. Valentine's Day stamp and attach it to the front layer. Then attach the front layer to the middle layer then the middle to the base and enjoy!

Frosty Friends Tri-Shutter Card

I made this cute tri-shutter card with my Stampin' Up! Frosty Friends stamp. It's one of my favorite Christmas stamps because it's just so adorable and fun to color! You can even cut the snowmen out and use them individually too! 

I love how this card turned out. Tri-shutter cards are actually one of my favorite kinds to make because they're so unique. The first time I saw one I thought that there was no way that I'd ever be able to make something so complicated but after reading and following this tutorial: Tri-Shutter Card Tutorial I realized that it was actually a lot easier than I thought. 

Here's what the card looks like when it's closed:

It's been a few years since I made this and I don't have any notes so I'll do my best to remember all the supplies that I used to make it:

First here are the measurements that I used for card stock: 

card stock base 5 1/2" x 12" 
snowmen background 2 1/2" x 3 7/8" 
snowmen 2 3/8" x 3 1/4"
sentiment background 2 3/8" x 3 7/8"
sentiment 2 1/4" x 3 3/4", 

Patterned paper panels:

two pieces 1 7/8" x 5 3/8" 
four pieces 1 3/8" x 1 7/8" 
two pieces 1 3/8" x 3 7/8" 
two pieces 1 7/8" x 2 3/8"

I stamped the snowmen with my Stampin' Up! Frosty Friends stamp in Stazon Jet Black ink. Then colored the images with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Next I highlighted the snowman and created the snowflakes with Diamond Stickles glitter glue and allowed it to dry completely. Then I used a Fiskars medium lever snowflake punch for the green ones and an EK Success 1/8" Yellow Snowflake punch for the red ones, attached self-adhesive rhinestones to their centers, and attached them to the card with mini pop dots. I stamped the sentiment with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! More Merry Messages set in Garden Green ink.

Margaret's Fifth Avenue Birthday Card

I made this beautiful card with my Stampin' Up! Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set for a friend's birthday and they loved it! I used the stained glass technique and love how it turned out. Here's how to make it:

• Cut a 5 1/2" x 11" piece of white card stock and fold it in half for the base
• score it at 2 3/4" 
• Cut two 2 5/8" x 5 3/8" pieces of light pink card stock
• Cut two 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" pieces of patterned paper
• attach both pieces of patterned paper to both pieces of light pink card stock 
• attach panels to both sides of the front flap 
• attach 3 pink buttons at the bottom of the front flap

• Cut a 5 3/8" x 5 3/8" piece of light pink card stock
• Cut a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock
• attach the white card stock to the light pink
• attach the ribbon around both layers
• attach them to the inside right panel

• Cut a 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" piece of light pink card stock for the first layer of the front image panel
• Cut a 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of white card stock 
• attach the white to the light pink card stock
• attach the square's left side to the front flap as shown

• Cut a 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of white card stock for the sentiment
• Stamp the sentiment in Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink ink with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations set and set it aside
• Cut one piece of vellum with a mid-size Spellbinders Labels Four Die
• dry emboss it with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
• cut it in half and attach one side to the inside left panel and the other to the bottom half of the inside right panel
• Attach the sentiment to the inside left panel

• Cut out 3 vellum leaves with a Stampin' Up! Secret Garden Framelits Die and set them aside.
• Heat emboss 3 roses on vellum with Versamark ink and white embossing powder
• Color them with the stained glass technique (click here for an awesome tutorial)
• I used Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink and Rose Red ink pads with a blender pen or an aqua painter works too.
• Cut out the butterflies with a Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslit
• Attach the butterflies, leaves and roses with mini pop dots and enjoy!

Medallion with Fifth Avenue Floral Card

I made this beautiful card with my Stampin' Up! Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I love this set because the flowers are not only gorgeous they're perfect for several techniques as well. This card's purple and made with my favorite rose stamp ever so of course I love how it turned out LOL! Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 3/4" x 9" piece of Stampin' Up! Concord Crush card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Stampin' Up! Night of Navy for the middle layer and a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of white for the front layer. 

Then stamp the flowers on the middle layer in Stampin' Up! Craft White ink with a stamps from a Fifth Avenue Floral set and a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Reason to Smile set. Next tear the upper right corner of the front layer then stamp the medallion and flowers with a Stampin' Up! Medallion background stamp, Fifth Avenue Floral and Reason to Smile sets in Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant ink. Next cut the leaves out of Night of Navy card stock with Stampin' Up! Secret Garden Framelits dies and set them aside. Then create the rose with the floating re-inker watercolor technique. Click here for an awesome video tutorial. The colors I used were Stampin' Up! Lovely Lilac and Elegant Eggplant. Next begin assembling your card: attach the front layer to the middle layer, attach the Concord Crush Stitched Poly Ribbon and misc. blue ribbon around both layers, attach the leaves and rose with mini pop dots, attach the front to the middle layer then to the base and enjoy!

Bright Idea Christmas Card

I made this adorable card with my House Mouse Bright Idea stamp. I adore all the House Mouse stamps and oh so wish I could collect them all. I love how this turned out, the gamsol magic coloring technique turned out awesome! Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 3/4" x 9" piece of red card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 3/8" x 5 5/8" piece of green for the middle layer, a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of patterned paper for the front layer, a 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of green for the image's first layer, a 3 3/8" x 4 3/8" piece of red glitter paper for the image's middle layer and a 3 1/8" x 4 1/8" piece of white for the image. 

Next stamp the image in Stazon Jet Black ink and color it with the Gamsol Magic technique. Click here for an awesome tutorial. Then attach the image to the glitter paper, then to the green one, then to the front layer. Next cut out the sentiment with a Spellbinders Labels Four die, sponge the edges and stamp the sentiment with Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler ink and a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Bells & Boughs set, attach it with mini pop dots, attach the poinsettia sticker, then attach the front layer to the middle one then to the base and enjoy!

Cascading Butterfly Card

I made this card several years ago and don't recall all the supplies that I used but will give it my best shot and even include a tutorial LOL! Here goes: I created the various die cuts with a Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Spellbinders Wings of Hope dies, and a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch. I stamped the front butterfly with an Inkadinkado stamp and the sentiment with a Stampin' Up! Bold Blossom Greeting stamp. Wow I did better with that than I thought I would LOL! Bunch 'O Butterflies Birthday Card

I made this pretty card with my Spellbinders Wings of Hope Shapeabilities dies. I love this set because it's so elegant and you can emboss with it as well. Exactly what I like, getting more bang for my buck LOL! I really like how this turned out. The colors are great together and I looooovvvvveeeee butterflies!!!!! Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Stampin' Up! Rose Red card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink for the front layer, a 1 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of Rose Red for the sentiment's background and a 1 1/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Pretty in Pink for the sentiment. 

Then dry emboss the front layer with a Cuttlebug Butterfly embossing folder and attach it to the base. Next cut then emboss the butterflies with a Spellbinders Wings of Hope Shapeabilities die, attach them to each other then to the front layer with mini pop dots and attach the self-adhesive pearls. Then punch the sentiment's background edge with a Martha Stewart Heart Lace Edge punch. Next using a Stamp a ma jig stamp the sentiment with a Stampin' Up! Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp in Rose Red ink, attach it to it's background then to the front layer. Finally, attach the front layer to the base and enjoy!

Black and Burgundy Valentine

I made this gorgeous card with my Stampin' Up! French Script background stamp. I love using it because it's so elegant although I wish I could read what it says LOL! I really like how this turned out. The colors are gorgeous together and I love that huge ribbon. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 3/4" x 9" piece of black card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of burgundy for the first layer, a 2 3/4" x 5 3/8" piece of white for the front left and a 1 1/4" x 5 3/8" piece of white for the front right strip. 

Next stamp the french script on the larger piece of white card stock and sponge the edges with Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler ink and attach it to the left side of the burgundy layer. Then emboss the hearts on the smaller piece of white card stock with a Stampin’ Up! Heart Pressed Letterpress plate and attach it to the right side of the burgundy layer. Next cut out three burgundy hearts with a Stampin' Up! Hearts A Flutter Framelits die and dry emboss two of them one with a Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder and the other with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. Then cut one large silver glitter heart with a Hearts A Flutter Framelits die and punch several small hearts with a small punch. Then attach the ribbon on the back of both sides of the burgundy layer, make the bow with a mini bowdabra, then attach the bow and the self-adhesive rhinestone with hot glue. Next attach the hearts with mini pop dots, attach the burgundy layer to the base and enjoy!

Emily's Kitten Kisses Birthday Card

I made this adorable card with my House Mouse Kitten Kisses stamp. I absolutely love all the House Mouse stuff. If I only had the money I'd collect tons of it LOL! I love how this turned out. The soft colors look great together and the Gamsol Magic coloring technique turned out great. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 3/4" x 9" piece of purple card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece  of green for the first layer, a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of patterned paper for the front layer, a 2 7/8" x 3 7/8"  piece of yellow for the image first layer, a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of white for the image, a 1 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of green for the strip background, a 1 3/8" x 5 3/8" piece of pink for the strip and a 1 1/2" x 2 7/8" piece of purple for the image's right edge. 

Next dry emboss the pink strip with a Stampin' Up! Petals A Plenty embossing folder and set it aside. Then cut the edges of the 1 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of green card stock and the 1 1/2" x 2 7/8" piece  of purple card stock with a Stampin' Up! Edgelits Finishing Touches Die and attach the purple card stock to the 2 7/8" x 3 7/8"  piece of yellow and the pink strip to the 1 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of green and set them aside. Next using a Stamp a ma jig stamp the image on the 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of white in Stazon Jet Black ink and color it with the gamsol magic technique. Click here for an awesome tutorial. Then attach the image to the yellow card stock and set it aside. Next tie the ribbon around the pink strip and attach it then the image to the front layer, finish assembling your card and enjoy!

Bells and Holly Christmas Card

I made this gorgeous Christmas card with my Stampin' Up! Bells & Boughs stamp set. It's one of my favorite Christmas sets because it's elegant and just screams Christmas. I really like how this turned out. The colors look great together and what says Christmas more than bells, holly and big red ribbons? LOL! Here's how to make it:

First cut a 4 1/2" x 9" piece of green card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of burgundy for the front, a 1 5/8" x 4" piece of green for the large rectangle background, a 1 1/2" x 3 7/8" piece  of patterned paper for the large rectangle, a 1" x 4" piece of green card stock for the small rectangle background, a 7/8" x 3 7/8" piece of patterned paper for the small rectangle, a 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece of burgundy for the bells background and a 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" piece of white for the bells. 

Then dry emboss the front layer with a Stampin' Up! Petals A Plenty embossing folder and set it aside. Next using a Stamp a ma jig stamp the bells on the white square in Stazon Jet Black ink then color it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. The attach it to it's burgundy background. Next cut out the sentiment with a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen die and stamp the sentiment with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Great Friend set in Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler ink. Next tie the ribbon around the two patterned paper strips, attach the sentiment behind the smaller one and attach them to the front layer. Then attach the bells and self-adhesive pearls and the front layer to the base and enjoy!

Beautiful Swallowtail Birthday Card

I made this gorgeous card with my Stampin' Up! Swallowtail stamp. I absolutely LOVE this stamp and have made several cards with it using many different techniques. I really like how this turned out. The color's awesome and I love the attached butterflies. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 1/2" x 9"  piece of Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant card stock and fold it in half for the base and a 4 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of white for the front layer. 

Next heat emboss the swallowtail on the front layer with Versamark ink and white embossing powder. Then sponge the entire image with Elegant Eggplant ink and use a paper towel or rag to buff ink off the embossed images. The embossed images will resist the sponged ink. Then using a Stamp a ma jig stamp the sentiment with a stamp from a Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations set in Elegant Eggplant ink. Next cut the butterflies out of Stampin' Up! Berry Blossom Designer Series Paper (retired) with a Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslit, attach them to the front layer with mini pop dots, attach the front layer to the base and enjoy!

Beautiful Deer Birthday Card

I made this card several years ago for a male friend's birthday and he loved it. I used my Stampin' Up! Noble Deer and Lovely as a Tree stamp sets. I love how it turned out. The deer's so realistic and I love the monochromatic look. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of black card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of tan for the first layer, a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of brown for the second layer and a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of white for the front layer. 

Next sponge the front layer's edges with Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip ink. Then using a Stamp a ma jig stamp the back treeline then the deer, the grass in the lower left corner and the pine trees in Chocolate Chip ink. Next stamp the sentiment, attach the front layer to the brown layer then to the tan layer then to the base and enjoy!

A Merry Little Wish Festival of Trees Card

I made this cute card with my Stampin' Up! Festival of Trees stamp set. I love this set because it's so darn much fun to use and you can make so many different designs with it. I really like how this turned out, the trees are cute and I love the glitter paper. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 4" x 8" piece of red card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of gold glitter paper for the middle layer, and a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of white for the front layer. 

Next dry emboss the front layer with a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and set it aside.Then heat emboss the trees on white card stock with Versamark ink and Recollections Red Tinsel and Stampendous Gold Tinsel embossing powders and punch them out with a Stampin' Up! Tree Punch. Next stamp the sentiment on a piece of white card stock in Stampin' Up! Real Red ink, cut it out with a Stampin' Up! Bitty Banners Framelits die and sponge the edges. Then cut a 1/2" x 3" strip of gold glitter paper and cut the end with a Bitty Banners die and attach it to the front layer with regular adhesive. Next cut the stars out of white glitter paper with a Stampin' Up! Holiday Collection Framelits Die then attach the sentiment, trees and stars to the front layer with mini pop dots. Then attach the front layer to the middle layer then to the base and enjoy!
