I made this adorable card with one of my favorites stamp sets, Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life. It can be used to create ice cream cones, cupcakes, clouds, even trees and so much more! It also has several sentiments as too. Definitely a must have for my craft room LOL! I adore how this turned out. The colors look awesome together and it's so bright and cheery! Here's how to make it:
First cut a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of Stampin' Up! Melon Mambo card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of Bermuda Bay for the middle layer, a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white for the front layer, a 2 3/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Daffodil Delight for the image background and a 2 1/4" x 4" piece of white for the image. Next create the background with the bokeh technique. Here's a link to an awesome watercolor bokeh tutorial; however I actually sponged this background. Here's how I did it:
First randomly sponge a piece of white card stock with the following Stampin' Up! ink pads: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay and allow it to dry. *Hint-you can avoid darker spots if you begin sponging just off of the card stock and work your way in. In the mean time cut acetate with various sizes of circle dies to create a stencil. Using a sponge or sponge dauber, white craft ink, and the stencil, color in circles all over the card stock, overlapping some. Let the card stock dry completely then finish your card:
Next dry emboss the 2 1/4" x 4" piece of white card stock with a Stampin' Up! Large Polka Dot embossing folder, attach it to the Daffodil Delight background and set it aside. Then stamp and lightly sponge the ice cream, cone and cherry in the following colors: Baked Brown Sugar, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay, then highlight each with Diamond Stickles and allow the to dry completely. Then cut or punch out each item and attach them to the dry embossed piece of white card stock with mini pop dots. Next stamp the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink, cut it out with a Stampin' Up! Bitty Banners die and attach it just above the cherry with a mini pop dot. Then attach the ice cream cone to the front layer, the front layer to the base and enjoy!
