Purple Rose Valentine Card

I made this gorgeous card with my Stampin' Up! Fifth Avenue Floral Floral stamp set. As I'm sure you've noticed it's one of my favorite sets and I've made tons of cards with it. I love how this  turned out. The layered rose is gorgeous and the polished stone background looks amazing. Here's how to make it:

First cut a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of dark purple card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of white for the middle layer, a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of glossy white for the front layer, a 1 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of white for the strip background, a 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of dark purple for the strip, and a 3" x 3" piece of white for the rose's background.

Next create the background on the glossy card stock with the polished stone technique. Click here for an awesome tutorial. I used the following Stampin' Up! Re-inkers: Elegant Eggplant, Lovely Lilac, Orchid Opulence, and Adirondak Silver Mixative. When the background's dry stamp the sentiment with a misc. Valentine stamp in Elegant Eggplant ink then spray the entire piece of card stock with acrylic sealer and allow it to dry completely. Then create the layered rose with the floating re-inker watercolor technique. Click here for an awesome tutorial. I used Versamark ink, white embossing powder and the re-inkers listed above except for the Silver Mixative. I created three roses, cut two of them to create layers and attached them to the first one with mini pop dots. Here's what it looks like from the side:

Next attach the rose's background to the front layer, the purple strip to it's background then to the front layer, attach the rose to it's background with mini pop dots, the front layer to the middle layer, the middle layer to the base, the self adhesive rhinestones to the strip and enjoy!
